Connecting wifi module to an open network

I don’t have 2 phones and I want to connect the wifi module to my university’s open wifi network.How can I do that??

Step1: Login to the Wifi on your laptop.
Step2: Go to Network & Internet settings -> Mobile hotspot and turn it on
Step3: Connect your phone to the laptop with the wifi credentials of laptop
Step4: Close mobile data and open the Bolt app.

If u don’t have 2 phones to connect bolt to internet.
Do this -
1.power up the bolt module.
2.ake you phone which should have internet connectivity.
3.Install the bolt iot app and open it.
4.Tap on add device and follow the instructions.
5.After connecting bolt module with phones wifi.
Use it to connect ur phones hot spot.
6.Next u have to provide ur ssid and password currently using phone , and follow the instructions.
7.Itwill ask for some permission (wifi,data to turn on/off).
8.After that you will connect ur bolt module to cloud using ur current phones internet.

U don’t need 2 phones.

Try these steps:

  1. Open the bolt app in phone.
  2. Initially, the bolt module will be sending out hotspot. Connect to this hotspot from the app.
    (Now your bolt module will stop sending out hotspot and will search for any external wifi connected to your phone.)
  3. Minimize the app
  4. Open your phone wifi settings
  5. Connect to your university wifi.

Now, your bolt module will automatically connect to the university wifi.
After this, whenever you switch on the module, it will search for this wifi and get connected automatically.(Both blue and green will be ON if there is internet access)

NOTE: Hotspots provided by universities may restrict access to some devices even if it is free wifi.

In that case, try the following steps:

  1. Connect to the university wifi from your laptop.
  2. Start your laptop hotspot
  3. Connect your phone to this hotspot.
  4. Check if the bolt module is connected to this hotspot (both green and blue lights ON)
    If yes, then you should always use this laptop hotspot for the bolt module.
