How many bits does IPV4 use for addressing?

IPV4 uses 32bit Adress

IPv4 uses 32 bits for addressing which contains the network prefix and the host number. It is separated into 4 groups of hexadecimal numbers ranging from 0 to 255. Each group contains 8 bits. Example: 192.0.6.143

Hi @sumansatick1234,
IPv4 addresses use 32 bits. Let me know if you want to know anything specific.

Hi, @sumansatick1234

IPv4 addresses are 32-bit numbers.

hii @sumansatick1234,
IPV4 uses 32 bit address while IPV6 uses 128 bit hexadecimal address. More the number of address will cause better address space utilisation and also the network management and efficiency of various Iot devices will be improved. Hence more Iot devices can be possible.

The IPv4 address is a 32-bit number that uniquely identifies a network interface on a machine. An IPv4 address is typically written in decimal digits, formatted as four 8-bit fields separated by periods. Each 8-bit field represents a byte of the IPv4 address.
Ex: 192.1.5.205

IPV4 uses 32 bit address and IPV6 uses 128bit

Hi @sumansatick1234
The IP protocol identifies each computer connected to the network by its corresponding address. This address is a 32 bits number in Ipv4, that has to be unique for each server or computer, which we will call “host”. The IP addresses are usually represented as four decimal ciphers, of 8 bits each, separated by dots.
Hope this was helpful.

Hi @sumansatick1234
The IPv4 address is 32-bit number that uniquely identifies a network interface. A 32-bit address contains two primary parts. One is the network prefix and the other is the host number.
