About using VPS

For alternatives to Digital Ocean, there were - VM Ware and Virtual Box, under which Ubuntu was used.
I have Ubuntu installed in my computer under “Windows Subsystem Linux” mode. Will I be able to use that too for projects to be done under VPS in this training?
