Bolt Setup and connectivity issue with the wifi

Hello,
I have installed the bolt iot app and followed the setup steps as mentioned but at the last when I gave the SSID and password of the wifi network to which I wanted to connect my bolt module, it loads for sometime and then shows no internet connection. How can I be connected to the internet while at the same time connected to bolt’s hotspot and as soon as I change the connectivity to the wifi to get the internet it shows device not available.

Hi @azad.g20,

When this happens you will have to Turn ON your Mobile Data.
At the step after you enter your SSID and Password of the network with which you want to connect your Wifi Module with, The next step of Verifying Wifi Setup requires the mobile data to be ON.

Specifically, after entering the SSID (Service Set Identifier) and password of the network you intend to connect your Wi-Fi module with, the subsequent step of verifying the Wi-Fi setup relies on having your mobile data turned on. This step ensures that the Bolt device can communicate with the Bolt Cloud and establish a successful connection. Therefore, it is crucial to activate your mobile data during this phase to facilitate the verification process. Please try enabling your mobile data. Hope it works.

Hello,
I did that with my mobile data enabled only still it showed that no internet connection as it was connected to bolt hotspot but even then when I switched to mobile data while keeping the wifi on it showed that the device does not exist.

Hi @azad.g20,

Can you let me know the status of the LED’s on the Bolt Wifi Module.
Also provide your Bolt Device ID and your Email ID so that we will link your device to your Mail Id from our end.

The wifi led is blinking fast and the cloud led is off.
The Bolt device id is- Bolt6285077.

If you want Wi-Fi router/ Mobile hotspot to connect with the module’s Wi-Fi network. You have to click on ADD NETWORK/SETUP VIA HOTSPOT option. You can find that at the bottom of your screen.
Then check the box that says Check this if setting up via phone hotspot in case you want the same mobile to connect with the module. Provide your mobile Network name and Password. You can find that in your mobile setting → portable hotspot. Then open your mobile’s hotspot and then it will ask to open your mobile internet.
Otherwise, your module will be connected to Wi-Fi router and the app will demand you to connect your mobile to the same Wi-Fi hotspot.

Blue LED is blinking fast meaning that its generating its own hotspot.

Once the setup is done, The device would be connected to the cloud, Both the LED’s will be Stable

Hello,
Thanks for the link actually my wifi had a bandwidth of 5 Ghz that’s why there were issues then I switched it to 2.4 GHz and now its alright. Both the leds are on and in a stable state

When this happens you will have to Turn ON your Mobile Data.
At the step after you enter your SSID and Password of the network. Bolt Iot will send you a temporary wifi hotspot blue bulb starts blinking after that you need to connect to2Ghz bandwidth wifi hotspot ,don’t connect with 5Ghz bandwidth.

Hi azad.g20,
To get the wifi to connect to the BOLT you have to keep the bolt module and your mobile phone connected to the same wifi.
Once the app in your mobile shows connection with the bolt app connect it with the Wifi taht is connected to the phone and then you can turn the hotspot off.
Try connecting both the bolt and the phone with a third mobile data using hotspot. connect that phones hotspot to your BOLT and Your phone which has the app.
