My laptop is working on Ubuntu OS. So, can I install the virtual machine, as it is suggested that minimum OS requirement is Windows 7 or Windows 10?

Since virtual machine is used in Windows OS to acess the terminal of Linux OS, so I don’t think you need to install any of the virtual machines.
However, if you still have doubts, there is an easy way to check out. Just follow the steps below.
Open Terminal on your PC/Laptop.
Try running all the basic commands taught to you in the course.
If each commands run successfully, well then all is good. You need not to install virtual machines.
